GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Mladinski Hostel Pekarna / Youth Hostel Pekarna, managed by Mladinski kulturni center Maribor / the Maribor Youth Cultural Centre, rents accommodation in accordance with its General Terms and Conditions.
Contracting partners:
The contractual partners are the Maribor Youth Cultural Centre - Hostel Pekarna (hereinafter referred to as "Hostel Pekarna" or "Hostel") and the customer/guest/ordering party (hereinafter referred to as "Guest"). If a third party has placed an order on behalf of the Guest, then the third party's order establishes a joint and several liability of the third party to Hostel Pekarna, jointly and severally with the Guest, for all of the obligations arising from the Contract.
In case of doubt, the Client shall be deemed to be a partner of Hostel Pekarna, even if he/she has ordered the service for other persons, whether named or unnamed.
Concluding a contract:
The contract is concluded when the hostel sends a written confirmation of the reservation upon written request. This applies for confirmation via email, all online portals (Booking.com, Hostelworld, Hostel Pekarna website, Google ...), social networks (FB, IG ...) and phone messaging applications (WhatsApp, Viber ...) where it is possible to book accommodation at Hostel Pekarna. By doing so, the guest is deemed to accept the General Terms and Conditions in full.
In special cases (permanent guests), confirmation can also be made by telephone or in person at the hostel reception.
Currency:
All prices advertised on the website or published in Hostel Pekarna are in Euro (€/EUR) and include VAT.
Enquiry and reservation:
Potential guests can send an enquiry for accommodation at Hostel Pekarna by email to hostelpekarna@mkc.si. An enquiry does not imply a confirmed reservation. The reservation is confirmed after the guest confirms that the dates and the offer sent are suitable and after Hostel Pekarna confirms the reservation.
For bookings made through online portals where it is possible to book accommodation at Hostel Pekarna, the reservation is confirmed when guests receive a booking confirmation from Hostel Pekarna.
Reservation change or cancellation:
The change or cancellation of the reservation must be made in writing by the guest. The written form is considered to be a message sent by e-mail or via the online portals used for booking accommodation services.
The guest may modify or cancel his/her reservation free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled arrival. If the guest does not change or cancel his/her reservation in time, or if the guest does not arrive, the guest will be charged 100% of the price of one night's stay.
Groups (20 persons or more) can change or cancel their reservation up to 5 days before the scheduled arrival date. If the reservation is not modified, cancelled or guests do not arrive in time, the customer will be charged 100% of the price of one night for each guest.
In the event of late cancellation or no-show, the Guest agrees to charge the credit card provided as a guarantee at the time of booking in accordance with the cancellation policy.
In case the client is a legal entity, an invoice will be issued to the client, which must be paid to the MKC Maribor transaction account within the statutory payment deadline.
The guest or client is also obliged to pay for the reserved accommodation services (such as beds) for guests who have not arrived and have not cancelled within the time limits set out in the General Terms and Conditions.
Right of the hostel to change or cancel the reservation:
The Hostel has the right to change the reservation if the booked room or accommodation service requires urgent unforeseen work or repairs that prevent the normal and safe use of the room or service, or if there is a double booking of the same room. In this case, the hostel is obliged to provide the guest with an equivalent accommodation unit. If this is not possible, the guest shall be accommodated in a better accommodation unit. If the guest agrees, he/she may also be accommodated in a cheaper unit, but in this case the difference in room rate will be refunded.
Exceptionally, the hostel may cancel a reservation for a valid reason (force majeure, emergency - flood, earthquake, emergency closure of the hostel, etc.), due to misleading or false information provided by the guest, or in the event of inappropriate behaviour by the prospective guest (alcoholism, influence of illegal substances, etc.). The payment or non-payment of cancellation in an emergency situation is subject to the laws and agreements at the time of the force majeure.
Guest check-in:
Check-in: 2 p.m. - 9 p.m.
All guests, regardless of age, must present a valid photo ID (passport, ID card or driving licence) at check-in. This must be valid both at check-in and at check-out. If the person is under the age of majority, this must be taken care of by the person responsible for him/her.
Upon check-in, the guest is entered in the internal guest register. This data is processed by MKC Maribor in accordance with its legal obligations. The data is kept for 2 years. The processing of the guest's personal data is in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and the applicable Personal Data Protection Act.
Payment for accommodation and additional services (e.g. breakfast) is made upon check-in. Exceptions are legal persons (companies, associations, organisations, etc.) who, by prior written agreement, are invoiced after the service has been rendered and are obliged to pay within the agreed (legal) payment period.
Overnight stays by persons not registered with the hostel are strictly prohibited.
On the day of arrival, the reserved room is waiting for the guest until 21:00. In case of a later arrival, the guest must inform the hostel in advance - at the latest by 20:00. If the guest does not inform the hostel of the late check-in, the reservation may be released. In this case, the hostel has the right to charge the guest for one night.
Check-in before 2 p.m. is only possible by prior arrangement subject to availability.
Guest check-out:
Check-ou: by 10 a.m.
On the day of departure, guests must check out of their room by 10 a.m. and return the key to the hostel reception. If the guest exceeds this time, Pekarna Hostel may charge one night's stay.
A free late check-out may be possible by prior arrangement and at the discretion of the staff.
If the guest wishes to extend their stay, they must inform the reception no later than 10:00 on the day of departure. Extensions are subject to availability.
If a guest occupies a room and leaves without having spent the night, he/she will be charged for the entire night.
If a guest books a room for a longer period and leaves before the scheduled departure date, he/she will not be entitled to a refund, except in cases of early departure due to force majeure or illness.
Services and pricing:
Hostel Pekarna is obliged to have the rooms booked ready and to respect the agreed services. The hostel reserves the right to provide the same quality of accommodation in case of overbooking.
The guest undertakes to pay the agreed price for the services ordered and to be used when checking in (exception: legal persons ordering services for third parties). The guest is not entitled to any additional services not confirmed at the time of booking or not included in the confirmed offer.
The prices are set out in the valid price list of Hostel Pekarna.
All prices already include value added tax (VAT).
Pekarna Hostel has the right to increase prices at any time in accordance with the conditions set out in the Code of Obligations, in particular in the event of changes in the prices of suppliers or changes in the tariffs of other services and prices that affect the price of services at Pekarna Hostel.
Tourist and promotion tax:
The tourist tax is calculated in accordance with the ordinance of the Municipality of Maribor.
Persons from 18 to 30 years of age pay half the fee and a Hostelling International fee of € 0.75.
Payment:
All services are payable at the time of check-in according to the price list in force, except for legal entities with which it is agreed in writing that the invoice will be issued after the service has been rendered.
Payment can be made in cash or by credit card (Maestro, Visa, Mastercard), except for legal entities with which it is agreed in writing that payment is made after the service has been rendered to the MKC Maribor transaction account.
In the event of non-payment, MKC Maribor shall be entitled to charge the cost of reminders and statutory interest on late payment.
All surcharges are set out in the valid price list of Hostel Pekarna.
Staying with children:
Every child, regardless of age, must have a valid photo ID (Passport, ID card).
Children up to 3.99 years stay free of charge when sharing a bed with their parents.
The age of the child is the age on the day of check-in, not the age of the child at the time of booking confirmation.
Price for a baby cot is 5,00 € per day.
High chair are available free of charge upon prior reservation.a.
Extra bed:
Extra bed is available in group rooms, apartments and 2 studio apartments. Extra bed is charged according to the current Hostel Pekarna price list and must be pre-ordered or included in the reservation.
Breakfast:
Breakfast at Hostel Pekarna is available for an extra charge. Breakfast is charged according to the current price list of Hostel Pekarna.
Guests wishing to have breakfast must order it upon check-in or the day before the desired breakfast date.
Breakfast is served daily between 08:00 and 09:30. Breakfast can no longer be used after this time.
Breakfast is self-service. Guests are responsible for clearing the dishes from the tables behind them and taking them to the counter designated for dirty dishes.
Pets:
Pets are not allowed in the hostel, so it is not possible to accommodate them in Hostel Pekarna.
Parking:
Guests can park free of charge in marked parking spaces in front of the Maribor MKC. Parking is subject to availability. Guests are given a key to access the car park upon check-in and must return it upon check-out.
Reservation of a parking space is not possible.
Lift:
The lift is available to all guests. Access to the third floor by lift is only possible with a key, which can be obtained upon check-in and must be returned upon check-out.
Smoking and fire alarm system:
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the Pekarna Hostel. If a guest violates this rule, they may be charged an additional cleaning fee for smoking, according to the current Pekarna Hostel price list.
If smoking triggers a fire alarm, the guest will be charged an intervention fee according to the current Pekarna Hostel price list.
In the event of a fire alarm, the guest will also be charged for the cost of intervention in the event of negligence.
Main entrance to Hostel Pekarna:
The main doors of Hostel Pekarna unlock at 8 a.m. and lock at 9 p.m. every day of the week. Between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m., you can only enter the building with your room key.
Bicycle room:
The room is designed for the safe storage of bicycles, walking sticks and other sports equipment. The room is locked at all times and guests can only access it with a key. The key can be borrowed at the reception of Hostel Pekarna. Pekarna Hostel is not responsible for any theft or damage to stored bicycles or other sports equipment.
Guests can borrow a bicycle or walking sticks owned by the hostel free of charge, subject to availability. It is the guest's responsibility to inform the hostel staff of any technical defects of the bicycle before use. Pekarna Hostel is not liable for any injuries caused by the use of the bicycle or walking sticks.
Lecture theatres and meeting room:
The Pekarna Hostel can rent lecture rooms or meeting rooms. For groups of ten or more, rental is free. They apply to the rental of lecture rooms or meeting rooms: General conditions for the use of the facility.
Cleanliness and tidiness of rooms and common areas:
All guests are responsible for the order and cleanliness of the rooms and common indoor and outdoor areas of Hostel Pekarna. In case of disregard of the general terms and conditions and cleanliness, the guest may be charged an additional cleaning fee according to the current price list of Hostel Pekarna.
The following are not allowed in the rooms:
- food and drinks (except in apartments and studio apartments),
- prohibited substances,
- dangerous objects (sharp objects, weapons, etc.),
- liquid substances that tend to catch fire or explode, or substances with a strong and unpleasant odour.
Excessive alcohol consumption is prohibited on the premises of Hostel Pekarna. It is also forbidden for intoxicated persons to stay in Hostel Pekarna.
Visits:
Visitors are strictly forbidden in the rooms. Only persons who have registered and paid for their stay at the hostel reception are allowed in the room.
Visitors can stay in the common interior or on the terrace during opening hours, between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m..
Liability and damage:
Pekarna Hostel is not liable for stolen or damaged personal property of guests or personal injuries caused in any way during their stay (except for injuries caused by gross negligence of hostel staff).
Pekarna Hostel accepts no responsibility for guests' vehicles parked on the Pekarna KC premises or in the car park, nor for belongings stored in the means of transport.
Pekarna Hostel also assumes no responsibility for items or services ordered by the customer at Pekarna Hostel (e.g. taxi order, ticket pick-up, mail sent to the hostel address, etc.).
The building in which Hostel Pekarna is located is under video surveillance.
If a guest discovers any damage or disturbance in the hostel, he/she is obliged to report it to the reception staff. The hostel staff will do their best to repair the damage or disturbance as soon as possible.
In the event of any damage to the hostel or its exterior, the guest assumes all financial responsibility. In this case, Pekarna Hostel disclaims all liability for damages that the guest may suffer in such an event.
Guests are also liable for damages caused by the fault of those who visit them.
In the event that the Client is a third party, the Client and the payer of the services shall be jointly and severally liable with the Guest.
In the event of a breach of the general terms and conditions or causing damage, the hostel may take measures to prohibit entry and remove the guest from the accommodation and charge the guest or the client for compensation for the damage caused.
Pekarna Hostel reserves the right to charge the guest's credit or debit card for any damage or theft of items from the hostel.
Special offers:
The various offers (first minute, last minute, promotions, etc.) are valid from the day they are published on the website or on social media until the day indicated as the last day of the promotion. Special offers do not apply to bookings confirmed before the special offer was made. Special offers are only valid under the conditions stated on the website or social networks.
Complaints or grievances:
Every guest has the right to make a complaint or appeal against inadequate service. Guests may lodge a complaint in writing within eight days of the date on which the service was incorrectly provided. If the guest misses the deadline, Pekarna Hostel will not consider the complaint.
The written claim must be accompanied by the relevant certificates and evidence of the factual situation on the basis of which the guest is making the claim.
If the deficiencies could not be resolved on the spot and the non-performance of the services is the fault of Hostel Pekarna, the guest is entitled to reimbursement of the costs in the amount of the real value of the services not provided or in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Consumer Protection Act. This does not apply in cases where Pekarna Hostel has the right to cancel or modify the confirmed reservation and the related services.
Pekarna Hostel is obliged to respond in writing to the said complaint within eight days of receipt and submission of all certificates and supporting documents. Until the Hostel has provided a reply, the Guest shall refrain from contacting any other person, judicial institutions or giving information to the public media.
Use and protection of the data obtained:
Pekarna Hostel protects all information collected about guests in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act.
By making a reservation, the guest also agrees to the use of this data for the purposes of statistical processing and informing about offers.
If the guest does not wish to do so, he/she can declare this at the time of booking confirmation or at check-in at the hostel reception.
Final provisions:
These General Terms and Conditions are subject to Slovenian law. In the event of a dispute between the parties, the jurisdiction for all disputes shall lie with the court of law in Maribor.
